The Brief

The development site is a vacant ‘gap’ site bounded by residential development, and within easy walking distance of the Lincoln’s historic core and the city centre. This steeply sloped site offers a magnificent view across the Witham valley to the south suggesting excellent development potential if the challenges associated with the slope and relationships to neighbours could be overcome.

Globe brought in a talented local company of architects to work alongside and unlock the potential on offer, concluding very early in the process that the opportunity demanded a contemporary solution that sits elegantly into its locality.

A carefully considered proposal evolved which delivers four dwellings, maximising the development opportunity by working with the slope, maximising views and minimising impacts on neighbours who retain their own unencumbered views across the valley.

Our Role

Globe coordinated the client team to ensure that technical engineering matters were considered from the outset as well as liaising closely with the architect to develop appropriate options that met the challenging brief – choosing the optimum solution to work up and submit.

Globe led as agent in submitting and managing the planning application along with preparing an Integrated Planning Statement and all related documentation.

Outcomes
