The Brief

Since 2008, the Foundry has been used by the Community Learning in Partnership (CLIP) as an education/training facility. The applications sought to return the building to its former residential use.

The organisation recently moved premises from The Foundry Learning Centre to The Bridge at 142 Bridge Street, Gainsborough, and therefore The Foundry building was surplus to the organisation’s requirements.  The location of the building, with its very limited onsite parking and access via a courtyard serving existing residential properties, placed limitations on the type of D1 uses (the existing permitted use) the site could be used for. CLIP previously ran a localised service from the building, but even with active management occasional disputes arose with residents over issues of noise and amenity.

Our Role

Globe prepared a planning application and listed building application, along with an Integrated Planning Statement to support the applications.

Outcomes

Planning Permission and Listed Building consent were granted.
