The Brief

Progress the business and planning case for a 67 acre development site in Skegness, with a major roundabout access from the A52, as part of a wider ambition for a Skegness western development corridor.

Our Role

Working to local business man and developer Roy Sanderson OBE and Croftmarsh Limited, Globe has been involved in the long term development of this project through several stages. These have included: building on the work of previous planning consultants to secure the site’s permission with an initial roundabout proposal; developing an advocacy document to present a forward vision for Skegness addressing the area’s socio-economic challenges; working in partnership with Lincolnshire County Council and Insight Accountants to prepare an application to the National Growth Fund through the Greater Lincolnshire Local Economic Partnership; Supporting the County Council’s planning application for a large scale roundabout on the A52; and working as part of a joint development team.

Outcomes

  • Extant permission and initial roundabout permission established.
  • Skegness Vision developed, published and widely supported.
  • Successful proposal for an £8m project made to GLLEP securing £4m of National Growth Fund grant.
  • Enlarged roundabout permission granted by LCC.
