Redevelopment of John Leggott College, Scunthorpe
Preparation of a planning framework to enable the college to be renewed in situ, with new college buildings being developed alongside the outdated existing buildings, which were then to be demolished, as part of a comprehensive campus redevelopment programme.
Globe worked closely with the College and its architects to ensure that all the issues and impacts associated with this major redevelopment scheme were identified and addressed. This involved extensive liaison and consultation with the local community, other stakeholders and a range of regulatory agencies. Expressing all the information clearly in an integrated planning statement ensured that the wide-ranging and often complex issues and interactions could be considered holistically. Globe and the scheme’s architects worked together to steer the scheme successfully through a challenging Design Review process.
Planning permission was achieved, first time round, within the tight timescale necessitated by the funding regime.
