International Bomber Command Centre, Lincoln
The International Bomber Command Centre (IBCC) provides a world-class facility acknowledging the efforts, sacrifices and commitment of the men and women, from 62 different nations, who came together in Bomber Command during WW11.
The project also covers the stories of those who suffered as a result of the bombing campaigns and those whose survival was guaranteed by the humanitarian operations of Bomber Command.
Globe was commissioned by the project architect Place:Architecture to apply to discharge the planning condition requiring the IBCC to submit a Travel Plan.
Globe prepared and submitted a Travel Plan Statement to discharge the planning condition.
Early liaison with the relevant officer from Lincolnshire County Council’s Transport Planning Team led to speedy consultation process between North Kesteven District Council and Lincolnshire County Council when the formal DISCON application was submitted
LCC’s Travel Plan Officer made the following comments:
‘A clearly laid out Travel Plan containing the relevant information that would be expected in an appropriate level of detail. The Action Plan is very detailed and clearly sets out all actions required. The use of figures, table and photographs make it easy for the reader to assimilate the information’ (LCC Travel Plan Officer, 2017).
