Care Home, Bardney
Home From Home Care Ltd approached Globe with a project aimed at expanding the care provision at their Bardney site, The Hawthorns. The proposal was to construct a new single storey building on a site adjacent to their existing successful home, which would provide living space for another six residents. The building was designed as two separate but interconnected single-storey three-bed units. Each bedroom has the ability to operate as an independent unit, with each side of the building also having communal facilities. This flexible living arrangement is crucial in the caring approach of Home From Home Care, who specialise in care homes for adults with complex needs. The dwelling already present on the site was to be retained for staff use.
Globe provided the client with planning advice and handled the application process, including a pre-application consultation event for the local community, ultimately culminating in submission of an Integrated Planning Statement. Working alongside Prime Meridian and Core Architects to provide a high quality application with exemplary design, Globe was able to provide a multi-faceted report, detailing the impact and form of the proposal.
The proposal was granted full planning permission, granting security to current employees and creating new jobs. This development created the opportunity for six new residents to benefit from the specialist and high quality facilities provided by Home From Home Care.
