Car Park, Spilsby
Spilsby serves an isolated rural catchment of around 8,000 people and for many people seeking to access the town’s shops and services, the car remains the only realistic choice. Given this context, there is a high demand for parking spaces which allow easy and convenient access to the services on offer in the town centre.
Planning permission was originally granted for the site to be used as a temporary surface cark in 2011, and this additional car park has proved popular with businesses and visitors to the town centre alike.
The site will continue to be run and managed by Robin Hood Car Parking Limited, a company who operate across Lincolnshire and the East Midlands. The company specialises in providing quality car parking provision on redundant sites where redevelopment opportunities have stalled or are simply not viable in the current economic climate. This site has outline permission for up to 10 residential dwellings and is to be redeveloped in the future.
Globe submitted a planning application along with an Integrated Planning Statement.
Planning permission granted with conditions to improve the visual appearance of the car park e.g. landscaping, new hard surfacing, permanent fencing and repairs to the boundary wall.
