Globe has secured planning permission on appeal for the growth of leading fashion brand Lola Rose’s Headquarters in West Hampstead, London. Permission was refused by the London Borough of Camden for extensions to the company’s head office to create more floorspace to enable the business to expand and create new jobs. However, the Planning Inspector, in considering the case, placed significant weight on the economic growth of the company, which is located within a designated Growth Area.
The case to the Inspectorate highlighted that Lola Rose is a growing business with an important role to play in the economic future of Camden, and West Hampstead in particular. The company, which specialises in fashion jewellery, is attracting a new type of industry into the area, an industry which has traditionally been focused in the West End. It is not always easy to persuade representatives from some of the world’s leading stores to stray further afield when in London, but for many, the excellent transport links to West Hampstead along with the reputation of Lola Rose have encouraged these high profile visitors and investors into the area.
