The weather was kind to me on my return to MIPIM after a short absence from this world wide coming together of property professionals. Taking a few days to meet new people, renew acquaintances and promote the business in the Cote d’Azur may seem odd but with everyone in one place at one time it is surprising just how much can be achieved. Oddly, it is more time and cost efficient than many if not all business development and networking opportunities that are available locally.
Like all such events there needs to be some discipline in following up leads and contacts in an expeditious way once home. Leave it too long and the efforts are diluted so I am now busy following those up.
Congratulations must go to the efforts invested by our regional representatives at District and County levels who, without exception, combined to deliver a unified message championing the opportunities to invest in the east midlands. Those representing Nottingham, Notts and Derbyshire alongside the efforts of Leicester and Leicestershire were hugely committed. The Greater Lincolnshire LEP team did a sterling job for Lincolnshire too and thanks go to the local authority team and the sponsors for hosting such a great evening event at Da Mimmo.
Of course it is hard to see immediate benefits from such events. However, the promise of specific work was evident and reminding people what a great team of people we have at Globe to act on the behalf of investors and developers is always a duty and a privilege that I am happy to undertake. I know just how highly our clients value our services.
A demanding few days, definitely, but very enjoyable too. The decision to take a full week’s accommodation also allowed for some R&R time too. It would be shame to miss such an opportunity in such a lovely part of the world!!
