Alongside Globe’s recently increased capability in Transport Planning, we start 2017 with Flood Risk and Drainage specialist Roy Lobley working as part of the Globe team from our offices in the Tithe Barn.
For developments greater than 10 dwellings the Lead Local Flood Authority expects drainage strategy information for any site as part of a planning application, so being able to provide an in-house solution further enhances the service we provide to clients.
Roy is a highly respected, experienced engineer and manager having worked for over 35 years in land drainage, flood defence and flood risk management for both the public and private sectors. He started his career with an Internal Drainage Board, before moving to the newly formed National Rivers Authority, then the Environment Agency and finally multidisciplinary consultancies before setting up Roy Lobley Consulting from his hometown of Lincoln.
Roy has been involved in over 1000 Flood Risk Assessments, dealing with all levels of Flood Risk Assessments. His part-time base in the Globe office allows us to fully integrate flood risk into our planning statements, undertaking Flood Risk Assessments in accordance with the National Planning Policy Framework and including an Outline Sustainable Drainage Strategy were required.
